HOW DO TOUCH SCREENS WORK?

InTouch can supply all touch screen technologies that best match your requirements  and environment. See our FAQs to answer any queries you may have and if you have any further enquiries we  recommend you give one of our team members a call on 1300 557 219 or email us

We have a wide range of touch screens  that are made to work with different installation environments. For example, if there is a high-chance of vandalism or accidental damage through heavy use then we would recommend one of our industrial touch screens that are robust and dust and water resistant.Or if you need a touch screen solution for a high-end retail or corporate environment, then we’d suggest something sleeker with edge-to-edge glass, pure-flat front and brushed aluminium trim from our  Bezel-free Series.

We recommend you talk to  one of our consultants to discuss  your install environment. They will match you with the best touch screen technology for your  environment and one that will fit within your budget.

To work out the perfect size touch screen you need to take into consideration a number of factors including the amount of simultaneous users, the physical amount of space allocated, and whether it is beneficial to be able to view content on the screen from a distance.

As a rule of thumb, if sufficient space is allocated, we recommend a 19” touch screen for 1-2 users to have a nice immersive experience and be able to interact comfortably with the content on screen. If 3-5 people will be viewing and interacting with the touch screen at the same time, we recommend a 32”-42”. To get an idea of the different sizes of our  touch screens and kiosks we recommend visiting  each product page and watching our videos. Another easy  way is  visit our  the Touch Screen Size Comparison page.

The number of touch points that are required is determined by the software application  you are using. Most applications incorporate multi-touch gestures to allow users to intuitively navigate their way by panning and swiping as well as further interaction by pinching, zooming and rotating content.

Effective gesture support requires a minimum of 2-point multi-touch. If multiple users are expected to interact with the touch screen at the same time, then we recommend 10-point multi-touch to allow for a multi-user collaborative experience.

We have 10-point multi-touch screens, all of which support the Windows multi-touch gestures such as pan, pinch, zoom and rotate for an excellent user experience.

InTouch have their head office and distribution centre in Sydney NSW. We service  customers Australia Wide including all capital cities and as remote as Karratha in WA and Uluru in NT. When pairing our products with an on-site service package we can offer on-site response times of as quick as 4-hours for metropolitan areas and Next Business Days for anywhere in Australia within 50km of a Woolworths Supermarket.

Bezel free touch screens are the latest trend in touch screen technology where there is attractive edge-to-edge glass without a raised “frame” around the outside of the touch screen. This has benefits from an aesthetic point of view and also allows for easy cleaning. A framed-edge touch screen can cause a build-up of dust and grime. InTouch have a wide bezel-free range of desktop touch screens  and open frame touch screens.
