Dymocks

DIGITISE FLOOR PLANS & CREATE A MAP FOR CUSTOMERS TO FIND THEIR WAY AROUND

Industry: Retail

State: Sydney, NSW

Overview:The first Dymocks bookstore was opened in Sydney by William Dymock in 1879, in Market Street. As his business grew over the years, he moved to larger premises at 428 George Street. Dymocks took the opportunity to commence a refurbishment on the George Street, Sydney premises whilst the store was closed during the lockdown in 2021. InTouch Screens worked closely with their partner Engagis to supply the touch screen and kiosk hardware for this project.

Requirement: Dymocks aim was to further upgrade and digitise the store with the appropriate technology. This included additional digital signage, kiosks, and a Wayfinding solution to enhance the user experience in store, by increasing the accuracy of locating specific books/items. The Wayfinding solution deployed enables customers to seamlessly use digital maps to deliver improved experiences via the innovative application. Customers can now use the kiosks to search for a book, and follow the interactive map via their mobile device to an accurate location.

Solution: InTouch Screens supplied the kiosk and commercial touch screen hardware for the project this included our KIO320P 32” portrait and KIO215P 22” portrait freestanding kiosks. The end of aisle touch screens were our INDT215 21.5” size displayed in a landscape format.
